FAQ  ( Hardware)

Q: My computer runs on Windows/NT and the device driver works too, but the

software can not run. It there a solution?

A: VP-EYE does not support the Windows/NT system. VP-EYE supports Windows

    98/98SE/ME/2000/XP.

Q: I follow the users guide and install the software and device driver onto my

computer. There is no video coming up when the camera is plugged into

     computer. What may go wrong?

A: Please check the entries in device manager and make sure the camera device

shows up. And then run the Amcap program to test the function of your camera.

Q: I use DC-35 digital camera and upgrade the software to VP-EYE 3.0C. It

prompts to locate the file of JAPI2.DLL.

A: This file should locate at C:\WINDOWS. You may specify the path if it is needed.

Q: When I use VP-EYE, the program asks for TWAIN driver to capture photos.

How do I get the driver?

A: Please check it with the camera manufacturer and get the TWAIN driver from

     them if it is available.

Q: When installing the camera driver, it asks for VFWWDM32.DLL or

     VFWWDM.DRV. What can I do?

A: It means the Windows system is missing some files for Video for Windows

components. Please find the files in the Windows CD and copy them to the proper

    location.

Q: After I upgrade the system to Windows XP from Windows 98, the camera

     does not work properly.

A: Please make sure the camera driver supports the Window XP system. Some old

model of camera does not have Windows XP driver. Otherwise, re-install the

camera driver and try it again.

Q: I install the camera driver and plug in the camera immediately. Why there

     is no video?

A: User must re-start the computer to put the camera driver in place.
